Below, you will find an initial overview of the types of data processed along with the data subjects affected by this processing.

Types of data processed
We categorise the processed data into the following types:

Usage data: this includes, in particular, websites visited and content interests.
Metadata: this refers to the data generated during the communication process – such as IP addresses, browser identification and device details.
Content data: this refers to the data that is made available when using our services (texts, images, forms).
Contact details: this comprises e-mail addresses, telephone numbers and the postal address.
Contract data: this comprises e-mail addresses, telephone numbers and the postal address.
Inventory data: this is the existing core data such as names and addresses.
Geodata: this includes, for example, your own location or the location targeted within a route.
Payment data: data concerning payment methods.
Special personal data: “special personal data” refers to data revealing racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, or trade union membership, as well as genetic data, biometric data for the purpose of uniquely identifying a natural person, data concerning health or data concerning a natural person’s sex life or sexual orientation.

Categories of data subjects
We divide the data subjects affected by data processing into the following categories:

User: visitors to our websites and online services.
Applicants: people who apply to us.
Interested parties: persons who are interested in our services and contact us about them.
Communication partner: persons who establish communication with us.
Customers: persons who utilise our services as customers.

Purposes for which the processing is performed

Office organisation: measures for organising the office, e.g. scheduling, division of tasks, etc.
Direct marketing: direct marketing to customers, especially via individual letters by e-mail.
Provision of contractual services: processing of data to support the execution and initiation of contracts.
Improving the user-friendliness of our online offering: we process data, in order to improve the user-friendliness of our website. We achieve this, in particular, by analysing visits to our online offering.
Analysis of the behaviour of visitors to our online offering: analysing the pages accessed, e.g. by recording click paths and bounce rates.
Implementation of the employment relationship: data processing for the purpose of implementing, managing and terminating the employment relationship.
Implementation of the application procedure: in the case of an application procedure, the data processed within that procedure.

Overview and explanation of the legal basis
In the following section, we would like to inform you about the legal basis of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), on the basis of which we process personal data. In addition to the regulations of the GDPR, national regulations of the country of residence or domicile of the respective user may apply.

Legitimate interests (Art. 6 [1] Sentence 1 lit. f GDPR): processing is deemed necessary for the purposes of the legitimate interests pursued by the data controller or by a third party, except where such interests are overridden by the interests or fundamental rights and freedoms of the data subject, which require protection of personal data.
Contract fulfilment and pre-contractual enquiries (Art. 6 [1] Sentence 1 lit. b. GDPR): processing is necessary for the performance of a contract to which the data subject is party, or in order to take steps at the request of the data subject prior to entering into a contract.
Legal obligation (Art. 6 [1] Sentence 1 lit. c. GDPR): processing is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation to which the data controller is subject.
Protection of vital interests (Art. 6 [1] Sentence 1 lit. d. GDPR): processing is necessary, in order to protect the vital interests of the data subject or of another natural person.
Application procedure as a pre-contractual or contractual relationship (Art. 9 [1] Sentence 1 lit. b GDPR): (to the extent that special categories of personal data within the meaning of Art. 9 [1] GDPR [e.g. health data – such as severely disabled status or ethnic origin] are requested from applicants as part of the application procedure, in order that the data controller or the data subject can exercise the rights arising from employment law, as well as laws within the scope of social welfare and social protection, and fulfil their obligations in this regard, the respective processing shall be carried out in accordance with Art. 9 [2] lit. b. GDPR; in cases pertaining to the protection of vital interests of applicants or other persons pursuant to Art. 9 [2] lit. c. GDPR or for the purposes of preventive healthcare or occupational medicine, for the assessment of the employee’s fitness for work, for medical diagnosis, care or treatment in the health or social sector or for the management of systems and services in the health or social sector pursuant to Art. 9 [2] lit. h. GDPR. In cases involving the communication of special categories of data based on voluntary consent, their processing shall be performed on the basis of Art. 9 [2] lit. a. GDPR).
Data processing for the purposes of the employment relationship (Section 26 Federal Data Protection Act [BDSG]): we process (special) types of personal data in the employment relationship on the basis of the statutory provisions for the purpose of establishing, implementing and terminating the employment relationship.
Consent (if requested) (Art. 6 [1] Sentence 1 lit. a GDPR): the data subject has issued their consent to the processing of their personal data for one or more specific purposes.
Processing for the performance of a task performed in the public interest (Art. 6 [1] lit. e GDPR): to the extent that processing is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest, or in the exercising of official authority vested in the data controller.
Storage of information in the end user’s terminal equipment with the end user’s consent (Section 25 [1] Sentence 1 Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act [TDDDG]): we use storage areas of our users’ terminal equipment for certain functions with their express and informed consent.
Storage of information in the end user’s terminal equipment due to necessity (Section 25 [2] No. 2 Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act [TDDDG]): unless we have asked you for permission when you visit our website or use individual functions, we use the memory of your terminal equipment for the technical presentation and delivery of our telemedia service – if this is absolutely necessary from a technical standpoint.

Security measures
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures in accordance with prevailing legal requirements, taking into account the latest technological standards, the implementation costs and the nature, scope, circumstances and purposes of the respective processing operation, as well as the different probabilities of occurrence and the extent of the threat to the rights and freedoms of natural persons, in order to ensure a level of protection appropriate to the risk; Art. 32 GDPR. The security measures we have taken include the following, in particular.

Secure Sockets Layer | Transport Layer Security (SSL): we use SSL / TLS for the encrypted transmission of data between the end devices of our visitors and our server. This significantly reduces the risk of unauthorised access to the transmitted data.

Transfer and disclosure of personal data to third parties
As part of our processing operations involving personal data, said data may be transferred to other bodies, companies, legally independent organisational units or persons or data may be disclosed to them. The recipients of this data may include, in particular:

IT service providers: this includes service providers for the provision of hosting, mail services and server technology
Payment service providers: service providers who co-operate with us to process payments.
Shipping service providers: service providers who handle logistical tasks for us. These include parcel service providers, in particular.
Public authorities: public authorities with which we exchange data, in order to fulfil a contract or for legal reasons.
In such a case, we ensure the protection of personal data by concluding contracts or agreements with the respective third parties that serve to adequately protect the data. We carefully and conscientiously select third parties to whom we disclose data. To the extent that we use third-party providers or platforms to provide our services, the terms and conditions and data protection notices of the respective third-party providers or platforms apply in the relationship between the users and the providers.

Data processing in third countries
If we process data in a third country, i.e. a country outside the European Union or the European Economic Area, or if the processing is performed by third parties outside this area, this processing is only carried out in accordance with the applicable legal provisions. Subject to the express consent of the data subjects or legally required transfers, we only process or have data processed in third countries with an appropriate level of protection. This includes, in particular, countries that process data on the basis of special guarantees – such as contractual obligations through so-called standard protection clauses established by the EU Commission, the existence of certifications or binding internal data protection regulations (Art. 44 to 49 GDPR).

General information on the deletion of data
The data processed by us shall be deleted in accordance with prevailing legal requirements as soon as the consent to its processing has been revoked or other authorisations (e.g. legitimate interests, legal obligations, etc.) no longer apply. Should the data not be deleted because it is required for other and legally permissible purposes, its processing shall be limited to these purposes. This means that the data shall be blocked and not processed for other purposes. This shall apply, for example, to data that must be stored for reasons of commercial or tax law, or whose storage is necessary for the assertion, exercise or defence of legal claims or for the protection of the rights of another natural person or legal entity.
